Major Panel Member Responsibilities:

As an IAI Major Panel member, you help establish and maintain statewide transfer recommendations for lower-division major coursework. Panel members:

• Identify and maintain a Common Core of up to four lower-division courses (or course sequences) that are commonly required within the discipline. Approved courses are assigned IAI Major codes and included in the IAI database.
• Provide a forum for faculty and administrators from participating institutions to develop a shared understanding of lower-division curriculum, learning objectives, and emerging trends within the discipline.
• Develop recommendations for lower-division coursework that prepares students who have selected a major but have not yet chosen a transfer institution.
• Review statewide and national articulation issues affecting the discipline and advise the IAI Steering Panel on recommendations and potential solutions.
