This section is designed for transfer coordinators and academic advisors. Transfer coordinators play a vital role in supporting successful student transfer, while academic advisors help students make informed transfer and course enrollment decisions that align with their educational goals.
The resources in this section are intended to support your work in guiding students through the transfer process and helping them navigate opportunities available through the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) and Illinois higher education institutions.
Transfer Coordinator’s Institutional Role:
- Advise and support students as they explore transfer options and develop academic transfer plans. Help students understand transfer requirements, institutional policies, and degree pathways.
- Interpret transfer credit evaluations and explain how coursework applies toward degree requirements.
- Connect students with admissions, financial aid, registrar, academic departments, and other campus resources.
- Collaborate with faculty, advisors, and administrators to improve transfer processes and student success. Serve as an institutional resource on the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), Transferology®, and statewide transfer initiatives.
- Assist students with transfer applications, transcript requirements, and important deadlines.
- Promote the efficient transfer of academic credit and advocate for student success throughout the transfer process.
