Recommended Practices
- Request materials early. Give faculty adequate time to prepare and review submission materials before your institutional deadline.
- Share the appropriate IAI resources. Provide the official IAI course description, panel Course Approval Criteria, and any institutional guidance relevant to the submission.
- Use a checklist. Encourage faculty to review the IAI Course Submission Checklist to verify that all required materials are included before submitting documentation.
- Review materials together. Compare the syllabus and supporting documentation against the panel's approval criteria to identify any gaps before submitting the course.
- Use current documentation. Representative syllabi and supporting materials should be as current as possible, preferably within the past two years and no more than three years old.
- Discuss curricular revisions early. If substantial changes are needed to align the course with current panel expectations, work with faculty before submitting the course for review.
- Allow time for revisions. Build sufficient time into your institutional submission schedule to address questions or update materials before the IAI submission deadline.
