Joining IAI as a Participating Institution

Institutions may participate in the Illinois transferable General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) Package agreement and/or in one or more of IAI’s 18 Baccalaureate Majors so long as the institution currently offers an IBHE-approved program in the specific major.  To record a desire to participate, degree-granting institutions are invited to submit a Statement of Intent along with the Participation Request below.   Submit both the intent statement and attached completed online Participation Request form via email to IAI staff at itransfer@itransfer.org.  Please be sure to visit the Illinois Articulation Initiative Policy and Procedures Manual, pages 12-14 for all policies pertaining to IAI Participating Institutions before submitting participation requests.

Although invitations are extended at specific times and the majority of institutions respond within a six-week time frame, private institutions meeting the criteria are welcome to become participants at any time. Historical policy information regarding what institutions must agree to when participating in IAI can be found by reviewing the  Illinois Board of Higher Education Policies on Undergraduate Education, Adopted September 1990, Transfer and Articulation, Amended September 1994 and May 1997 and the  IAI Evaluation - item # 11 from IBHE Agenda April 2006, and the January 2007 Thirty Hour Rule Memorandum .
