Transfer Coordinators and Advisors

This page is designed to meet the needs of transfer coordinators and advisors at participating institutions.  The transfer coordinator role a widely varying role and is vital to students' successful transfer.  Advisors are the front line in helping students achieve their academic goals and providing students with the information they need to make informed decisions about their college careers.  This includes helping them in their transfer decisions.

Transfer Coordinators and Advisors should

  • Communicate regularly with campus faculty and administration about the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI);
  • Annually verify that their institutional courses listed on the iTransfer website are accurate and reflect current offerings;
  • Notify IAI if corrections are needed; and
  • Help orient general education and baccalaureate-majors' panel members to the intent of the IAI and state and institutional policies.
