IAI General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) Requirements
The IAI Gen Ed Package consists of a set of 12 to 13 courses (37 to 41 semester credit hours). The GECC transfers as a package to satisfy the general education requirements at participating IAI schools to help you with progress towards completing your degree. Co urse-to-course transfer is not guaranteed.

Communication
3 Courses - (9 semester hours/13.5 Quarter hours) (2 Writing and 1 Speech course)

Humanities and Fine Arts
3 Courses total, 1 course must be a Humanities course, 1 course must be a Fine Arts course. The additional course is the student's choice or as directed by your advisor. (9 semester hours/13.5 Quarter hours)

Mathematics
1 Course (3-5 semesters/4.5 - 7.5 Quarter hours) - Choose a mathematics course appropriate to your major. Check with your advisor to ensure the appropriate course is being selected.

Physical Sciences and Life Sciences
Less than 2 Courses total, 1 Course from each area - (7-8 semester hours/10.5-12 Quarter hours) - A course from Physical Sciences or Life Sciences must have a lab (L) designation, e.g. P1904L/L1904L

Social and Behavioral Sciences
3 Courses total, from at least two different disciplines (e.g., no more than 2 courses from, for example, psychology). (9 semester hours/13.5 Quarter hours)
Courses can be taken from the same identifier as long as the course outcomes are different.
Total hours - 37-41 semester credit hours for a full complete transferable general education package.
(55.5 to 56 quarter hour total or more depending on science course credit hours and mathematics course credit hours. A quarter credit hour is 1.5 credits to each semester credit hour.)
