International Baccalaureate (IB) Courses -
College Credit for Scores of 4 or Higher at all Illinois Public Institutions of Higher Education
On July 22,2016, SB 2505 was signed into law amending The College and Career Success for All Students Act (Public Act 099-0624) which now provides that a student who takes an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject and receives a score of 4 or higher is entitled to receive postsecondary level course credit at a public institution of higher education. The Act requires each public institution of higher education to comply with the same standard of awarding course credit to any student receiving a score of 4 or higher on an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject and applying the credit to meet a corresponding course requirement for degree completion at that institution of higher education.

That depends once again on the types of courses taken and whether they relate to IAI general education courses. Work with your advisors and institutional representatives to ensure you understand how the courses you have taken relate to credits you receive in transfer. Institutions have policies and rules in how this credit is awarded and it is important to understand these policies and how they affect the credit available to you.
