General Education and Majors: Course Management

In May 1995, colleges and universities participating in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) began identifying and submitting courses that match those described in the General Education Core Curriculum and the Baccalaureate Majors' Recommendations. Each panel reviews the submissions and accepts or rejects them for the iTransfer database. Course review is continuous, since institutions may add, change, or discontinue courses over time. The General Education Core Curriculum became available on the IAI website on May 15, 1997 and became effective for students entering college as freshman in the summer of 1998 and thereafter. completed their work.
