I.  Introductions & Technology

A.  Personnel Changes

1.  Samuel Wheeler (ICCB) is now the new manager of this panel

2.  New members introduced to the panel

            a.)  Bob Mihelich (McHenry)

            b.)  Mike Miller (KCC)

II.  Training, Orientation, and Updates

A.  New Policies and Procedures Manual

      1.  Everyone on the panel received a copy of the newly revised 2013 manual

      2.  It is also available for download at:

      3.  The manual spells out individual responsibilities for ICCB, IBHE, iTransfer,

CAOs/University Provosts, Transfer Coordinators, and Faculty Panel Members

      4.  The manual details how panel members should conduct a new course review      

    5.  The manual also details how the Ongoing Course Review process will operate

                B.  Panel Member Term Limits

    1.  We will do a better job of enforcing the 3-year panel member term limit

     2.  Each semester, we will thank departing members and welcome new ones

            C.  iTransfer website changes

                        1.  iTransfer is reprogramming the site to make it more user-friendly

                                    a.)  The new site will launch in January

                                    b.)  We will talk more about it during the Spring 2014 meeting

                        2. = their mobile site is live

IV.  Items from Members

            A.  David Smith – Electrical Engineering coursework

                        1.  Distribution of an analysis of the transferability of four electrical engineering IAI courses

                        2.  Proposal to add two new IAI courses

                        3.  David asks that each member take this back to his institution and determine if the proposal

makes sense

                        4.  This proposal will be put on the Spring 2014 agenda

            B.  UIUC Transfer Policy for CHEM courses (Clark Niepert)

            C.  AES Proposal

                        1.  A year or more ago, this panel wanted to recommend changes to the AES degree

                                    a.)  They are still awaiting word on the procedure for this

                                                1.  The panel manager will look into this issue

            D.  Engineering Course Approval Criteria

                        1.  The panel discussed several changes to this document

                        2.  The panel co-chair will make changes and email the document to the panel manager to post


V.  Panel Member Recognition

            A.  This panel did not have any departing members this semester

VI.  Schedule Next Meeting

            A.  Spring 2014 = panel manager will meet on April 10, 2014, more information to follow

            B.  Fall 2014 = panel will meet on October 23, 2014, more information to follow
