    1. GECC Panels

      1. GECC Communication – Krista Jackson

        1. Tech Writing – if course meets C1901 R or C1900 R, will be approved.

        2. Few criteria updates

        3. New 4 year co-chair – Mardia Bishop – Univ. of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

        4. 43 courses reviewed

      2. GECC Humanities & Fine Arts – Sean Doyle

        1. 83 courses reviewed

        2. Discussion re what constitutes integral writing.  Will look at what other panels have.

        3. Conversation with Soc. & Behavioral Sciences panel re consistency. Conversation ongoing.

        4. Sub-committees have been formed to look at descriptors.  Are they outdated?  Do we new ones?  Can we make what we have more generic?

      3. GECC Social & Behavioral Science – Lily Siu

        1. 54 courses reviewed.

        2. Conversation re History courses – simplifying, broadening scope, etc.

      4. GECC Mathematics – Mary Wright

        1. 56 courses reviewed.

        2. Possible prereq changes to some of the descriptors

        3. Trying to be as flexible as reasonably possible when deciding courses

      5. GECC Life Sciences – Kelly McConnaughay

        1. 36 courses reviewed.

        2. Non Gen-Ed courses – breadth of content, etc. Announced 2-3 times at TC meetings that courses will be ending.  Boards are sending memo re when these courses will end.

        3. Developing descriptors for Applied Biology and Applied Life Science courses

      6. GECC Physical Sciences – Joy Branlund

        1. 50 courses reviewed.

        2. Most issues with courses were lack of lab information

        3. Submissions – many made no changes

        4. Broadened P9900 descriptor

    2. Major Panels

      1. IBHE – Malinda Aiello

        1. Computer Science – meeting tomorrow

        2. Theatre Arts – Conference call meeting

        3. Psychology – criteria being updated

        4. Art – Code of Best Practice booklet.  Not using yet – was used as a discussion starter

        5. English – meet each Fall

        6. Biology – updating criteria

        7. Early Childhood Education – approximately 15 courses submitted – ECE 912 Child Growth & Development.  No Criteria yet – working on it.  ECE 913 – Exceptional Child being worked on.  Major page not finalized yet.

      2. ICCB – Ashley Becker

        1. Physics – tweaking criteria

        2. Chemistry – tweaking criteria, people still not submitting information as needed

        3. Ag – meet once per year, then it’s a conference call.

      3. IAI/iTransfer – Krista Jackson

        1. Criminal Justice for Ashley – conference call

        2. Mass Communication – MC 916 split into 2 – studio and field based courses.  3 options for submission – either and both.

        3. Business – BUS 901 - trying to see how currently taught to update.  Revising Statistics course and looking at prereqs

        4. Political Science – minor criteria tweaks

        5. Math – sub-committee for better list of why courses are returned

        6. History meets once per year.

      4. Discussion re getting message out about why courses are returned

    3. Transfer Coordinators – Anne Brennan

      1. Reverse Transfer – now have a Task Force to try to improve.  Need something at state level.

      2. New 4 year co-chair – Kristin Smigielski (Univ. of Illinois Urbana-Champaign).

      3. Topics of Interest – Teacher Licenture, Associate of Science degree, Communicate with each other more (afternoon discussion time).

    4. IBHE – Malinda Aiello

      1. Legislation

        1. SB 806 and HB 3408 – IBHE and ICCB are involved in wording, etc.

    5. ICCB – Ashley Becker

      1. AS proposal – still moving through process

      2. Working on Military Credit

    6. IAI/iTransfer – Krista Jackson

      1. Going through the system, tweaking things.  Nothing major.

      2. Going virtual with server hardware – HUGE project

      3. Did GECC audit, sent “non-compliance” letters

      4. Criteria and descriptor changes – should all be updated in the next month or so.

      5. Summer – training project

  2. Other Items

      1. Course sequence submissions in Ongoing Review

        1. Sometimes panel needs to see entire sequence

        2. Will be discussed after meeting season

        3. Movement towards using custom textbooks

  3. Items From Members

      1. Marilyn Murphy Marshall – Non Western designation still part of IAI?  Not specifically part of GECC but is institutional requirement.
