10:00a.m.* to 3:00p.m.
ISU – Bone Student Center – Circus Room – Normal, IL
(Note: Retreat start time changed from 9:30 to 10:00)
The panels, along with the IAC and Steering Committees, have been operating for several years. Over time policies have changed, while IAI staff and panel members have come and gone. Now is the time to step back together to reflect on our success and focus on recurring issues. Our goal for this retreat is twofold:
· Engage in frank discussions of issues leading to consensus on positions and consistency across panels
· Discuss development and delivery of Member Orientation for new members, current members, and incoming co-chairs
Board and IAI staff has identified several recurring issues as candidate topics:
· Refreshing the charge of the GECC panels
· Enhancing the roles of the panel co-chairs
· Voting expectations of panel members
· Master and/or Representative Syllabi
· 5 Year Review Process (timeline and quantity of courses)
· Structure of the panel meetings
This topics list is not all-inclusive; attendees will breakout and identify other recurring issues that are common across GECC and/or Major panels. Rarely do panel co-chairs have the chance to discuss issues and share strategies between panels. This retreat is a great opportunity to engage co-chairs in engaging and collaborative dialogues, come to a consensus on various issues, and look forward as we work together to further strengthen IAI. Ultimately this work will make the panel meetings more productive and streamline the course submission process.
Dress Comfortable & Casual!!!
Come ready to roll up your sleeves, have honest discussions, debate pros and cons, and move towards general agreement on the various issues at hand.
We ask that all GECC and Major panels be represented at the retreat - preferably by one or both co-chairs. If this is not possible, co-chairs are asked to find an active panel member (active = votes on courses, attends meetings) to attend who can contribute to the discussions and decisions.
Please take a moment now to confirm your attendance by emailing email@example.com; All RSVPs are due by Monday, February 13 to ensure an accurate headcount for lunch.
We look forward to seeing you on February 17!
