A survey and analysis of the criminal justice system, including an historical and philosophical overview of the development, with special emphasis on the system’s primary components and the relationship of these components in the administration of criminal justice in the United States.
At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Explain how the components of the Criminal Justice system are interrelated.
2. Explain the professional responsibilities of components within the Criminal Justice system and society at large.
3. Describe the historical development and philosophical foundations of the Criminal Justice system.
4. Define the terminology relevant to the Criminal Justice system.
